Wildcard:Plot overview
From Wildcard
Stuff on here:
- Things that hamper a resolution, e.g. Dread's recurring isolation shenanigans
- Things that work toward a resolution, e.g. Aeonis making an investigative team
- Important reveals, e.g. that Dread can make himself useful as a phoneline to the offline world
- Simswitches
- Character entrapments
- Character deaths
- Offline political shenanigans
Stuff is considered 'pivotal' in the timeline when:
- It pertains to offline's understanding of the network, e.g. CR-3X meeting with Aeonis
- It marks a fundamental paradigm shift in how anyone understands the technology of the network (be they online or offline), e.g. Sirena's undeath, or CR-3X's offer
- It pertains to international politics, e.g. Operation Tidefire

Key points
-
Dread
Dread keeps bothering people. It's a known problem.
CR-3X has offered to sever people's neural feedback loops to their bodies if they want to 'opt-out' of being harrassed by him... since this translates to brain death and permanently transitioning into becoming a Puppet, no one's taken him up on the offer.
- Note: Dread is dead now, thus no longer a threat.
- Joshua Bergström's death
- Joshua Bergström, creator of genAesis, got himself trapped on the network after investigating the first rumour-like information on a rogue genAesis network.
- He first physically died of dehydration soon after connecting, without noticing, his digital manifestation continuing onward without missing a beat - then died 'properly' at the hands of Adrethyrian toward the end of Eclipsed.
Adrian, Elizabeth, Sethiss and Liska believe it's greatly reduced their chances of getting out of the network. Adrian blamed Frederick, since he was (and still is) an Adrethyrian sympathiser; and of course everyone blames Adrethyrian, himself, though he's long since become tolerated.
- Sirena's undeath
- Sirena was killed by Dread, only to have her digital manifestation revived by the network (CR-3X specifically, see below).
- Digitalisation
- When Dread was trapped, he introduced the theory (based on several factors) that all Citizens really are Puppets linked for reasons unknown with the source bodies, and that this may be the reason why no one's been rescued yet - because it's not possible to undigitalise people.
Known network supporters
There are two known network supporters.
- Nechku
- Nechku is known to support the network by those trapped online. Paul Greyhound was going to have this knowledge as an untrapped participant, but was deliberately trapped by Nechku as she caught him snooping.
- Lysette Skeates
- Lysette Skeates is known to Aeonis, but they've been unable to pin anything on her (not to mention her personality is quiet and shy and not at all reeking of odd world-domination plans... she doesn't seem to know a lot about the network - she's a friend of Stacksmash's).
Known network servers
Two of three network servers have introduced themselves personally so far.
- CR-3X
- CR-3X to Sethiss (and by proxy Liska and Archleone), later to Elizabeth and Joukahainen in an almost god-like scene, then to Sirena and Frederick.
- Verdana
- Verdana intervened as a tangible deus-ex-machina in Taranis, not wanting to lose 'the sample' to the stupidity of insignificant parts of it. (She intervened intangibly in Mer, too, but of course that's not a reveal.)
Autonomous Puppets
Autonomous Puppets so far are rare, so their story tends to be significant to the Citizens.
- Adrethyrian
- Adrethyrian was an ex-sim-boss in Eclipsed who mellowed thanks to Frederick Pasquan's efforts.
- Joukahainen
- Joukahainen was a guide in Dominion who knew himself to be a Puppet and deliberately manipulated the Citizens into destroying the simulation, hoping it would end the farce of his digital 'life' - it didn't.
- Leonard Spigots
- Leonard Spigots was a guide/villain in Rapture who was convinced by Israel that he's a Puppet, but also that he could come along with the Citizens... and did, to everyone's surprise. His bipolar coding has him heavily mistrusted.
