In Sun, after a day's ordeal trying to survive repeated attacks from Adrethyrian, the Citizens finally break through to the surface, only to find that it is a black desert with an eclipsed sun. In their desperation, they run from Adrethyrian's newest incarnation, toward a pyramid, and manage to close the door before him.
