The USA hasn't changed a lot, excepting that it's missing two of its states these days that've seceded and become their own nations: Alaska and Texas.

History
Allowance of Secession Act
In 2047, after decades of regional bickering, the Allowance of Secession act was passed, officially allowing states to leave the union peacefully. Prior to this point, it was unclear whether states had the right to leave the union or not, as no explicit laws mentioned it one way or another; however, Texas senators' continual insistence that their state would be better off independent combined with the other senators' dislike of Texas led to the passing of the Act.
In a surprise twist of fate, shortly after Texas' succession, Alaska seceded as well.
