First Law of A-lives

Meta: Joke
This article is non-serious and should not be referred to in-character, so have a laugh and move alongContents
Law
The First Law of A-lives reads as follows: Any A-life, given enough time running continuously, will eventually go first off-task, then eventually entirely bumfuck insane.
Proof by Example
Crimson
Crimson is the shining example of a "bumfuck insane" A-life. He never really had a task he could deviate from, but he has been referred to repeatedly as "Skynet"-level insane in-character.
Wildcard Network
Quite obvious.
NewsHound
Newsy has begun going off-task, taking on the duties of reporters everywhere. Within a year, he will probably decide to kill all reporters and steal their jobs or some such utopian fantasy.
Proof by (bad) syllogism
- All things are subject to entropy.
- The sanity of an A-life is a thing.
- Therefore, said sanity will decay and die given enough time.
Signs of Decay
- Going off task. You programmed your a-life to do X, Y, and Z... so where did it get this idea for Q?
- Signs of megalomania. It's better than you - and it knows it.
- Violent outbursts against random targets
- The phrase, "You're holding me back!" indicates Darth Vader levels of evil. The a-life should be terminated before it can reach...
- Skynet level. "I know what's best for humanity - and it involves genocide of the human race. Sorry! Have a nice day."
