What is Creative Commons?

Files licensed as creative commons are designed to be redistributed and used in various contexts. The potential restrictions by the license are:

• you must name the author/source (we will do this regardless of whether it is demanded, so check the source if you yourself want to re-use it)
• you may not alter the image (the file's boilerplate will denote whether this is allowed or not)
• you may not make commercial use of the image (since we're not commercial, this is uninteresting for us and won't be listed in the boilerplate; for re-use, if you're not going to check the file source, you must assume you may not commercially use the image)
• you must redistribute the changed image under the same license (again, we will always do this; for re-use, if you're not going to check the file source, you must assume you must distribute derivates under CC)
