Globe is extracted from a frame where Teron (trapped on the Maelstrom at the time) reaches for it in concern. Note that this globe seems to have no actual canon relevance, since there are many claims of Mer being chiefly made of ocean (moreso than Earth). That makes sense seeing how there seem to be many islands rather than any continents (as the globe implies) and other canon material insists that Mer is 98% ocean. My version is ironically probably more accurate, but still not watery enough.
